Fish sandwich is divine. Cocktails are great. Happy hour is happy. Locals hang here on a reg basis, so that tells you something. Interior needs a bit of refresh; a fireplace, some sofas, some booths...feels a bit like a big room with a lot of chairs, but Lucy's is my jam overall.
Food was very good. We ate per our waitress's recommendations. We were there on the first Sunday in August and enjoyed the music of a Blues singer and his guitar.
I had the beef brisket, my husband had the pork tenderloin. Both meals were delicious. The portion was enough to split as an entre allowing for the addition of salad or sides and maybe dessert as there was definitely a lot of meat for us seniors. The restaurant was comfortable and the seevice was good by the friendly staff. This is my new go to place when visiting Saugatuck as the food was local, fresh and well prepared.
The service was slower than necessary as they weren't busy. Our waitress seemed kind of unsure of herself when questions about the menu were asked. Food was great overall but my fish was raw in the center. They apologized but did nothing to compensate(disappointing@$14.00p/plate). Everything else we had was good. Children's menu option should be more child friendly as the grilled cheese was $8.00 and way too much for a child portion.
Lucy's Little Kitchen has excellent food & a full bar. They moved into present building two years ago, but my wife & I have been going there for the last six years, at least once a year for their Lucy burger. One of the best, if not the best burger we've ever eaten. The one thing I miss is their Juices made with actual cain sugar. Been told suppliers consider them too small to deal with. Everyone seemed to have loved those drinks!
