We came here after reading the reviews and looked forward to a tasty, relaxing experience.

A bit of a drive from Grand Rapids but worth the drive everytime. Amazing fried chicken that never disappoints. Many places claim to serve "homemade" food but you actually get that here. Service is excellent as well. Looking forward to making the trip for brunch on a weekend soon!

We had the Buttermilk Brined Fried Chicken & Crab Fritters, which were both out of this world! (And we both work @ a world famous chicken restaurant!) The view of the harbor was magnificent, even with the heavy rain outside! Felt like we were stepping into grandmas house & were made to feel right at home! The only reason for 4 and not 5 stars was my salad... way too much dressing! But other than that... I will be recommending this place to everyone I know!

This is my favorite restaurant in Michigan. Their food is phenomenal, the specials are always rotating, and the servers and bartenders are delightful. One of the owners, Katie Fris, is asking the coolest people you'll ever meet and sets the bar for professionalism and tact. Not to mention she makes the best Sazerac I've ever had. The food is spectacular and home cooked. Every time I go I leave full and smiling. If you haven't been here yet, you don't know what you're missing.

If you like fried chicken and Mac n cheese to split, come here. (They only have one size of Mac n cheese).

Food choices were interesting. I wasn't blown away with everything...the fried chicken and pork were delicious. Many things had a peppery taste to them. Mason jars for water were very dirty around the rims. Our server was friendly and efficient but food took a very long time to arrive given it wasn't busy, but steady. Drink menus were too "hipster" for me. No desserts offered. For being a southern place, I would recommend cobblers, pies, custards, etc.

Five star for food. Three star for service - hence the four star review. Fried chicken was outstanding - crispy outside, moist inside. Mac and cheese was delicious and the sides were tasty and a perfect compliment to our entrees. As for the service, while the place was very busy, we shouldn’t have felt rushed (which we did). The service didn’t have the southern hospitality we would have expected. While we understand that the restaurant doesn’t offer dessert, we could have been asked if we would have liked another drink ... instead our waitress silently placed the check on our table and walked away.
